Myrtle Beach, SC

The first half of our trip has consisted of leaf peeping and mountain viewing. Fall is my favorite time of year so it's been nice to experience it in other places. But we are more than ready to jump into the second half of our trip along the coast.

We hit the beach upon arriving in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We camped right there at another state park, Myrtle Beach Campground. The weather has been great, clear, sunny and beautiful and in the low 70's. Brian introduced me to his friend and co-worker, Kenny's wife, Nicole, who lives right across the street from the beach. Kenny is at sea but Nicole showed us their awesome new abode and took us to her and Kenny's favorite pub, The Old Bull and Bush. It's been very cool for me to meet people that Brian works with and their significant others. Our lifestyle is very different so it is really neat to share experiences with other people who do the same thing.

We are hoping to get some real beach weather as we continue down the coast. The plan is to move on to Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA and then Florida. I've got a date with some of my fellow observers in Lecanto, FL for a Halloween party. We also have Disney World, more National Parks and visiting friends and family on the menu for Florida. We booked our tickets home for Thanksgiving for Nov. 19. It's always an open invitation to make plans with us while we're traveling but we'll be home for a couple weeks over the holiday so hopefully we'll get to see everyone then before we go back to work!
