It's been one hell of a winter in New England this year, which is not new news to anyone, I know. Brian went back to work in early December, as scheduled, and I made the decision to stay in New England while he was at sea. Alaska didn't work out for me and as much as I wanted to stay in Florida, all RV sites were booked, I had no job and would be own my own for 95 days. Instead, I moved in with my in-laws, Tom and Liz, at the Glades in Scituate into their in-law apartment they have for Brian's grandmother, Mary Lou, in the summer. I went back to work as a substitute ranger at World's End in Hingham, watched over a condo for a fellow friend and picked up some side work painting. I also got really into practicing yoga and signed up for an intermediate photography class with my old instructor, Tim Waite, at his studio
Firefly53 in Pembroke. This winter was a blessing in disguise for me. I got to spend quality time with friends and family that I otherwise wouldn't have had, I met new people and learned more about my favorite hobbies, photography and yoga. I also enjoyed living at the Glades, it is such a gorgeous property at all times of the year and also remote and quiet. Don't get me wrong, we had some serious damages from the winter storms and most people would compare the old hotel to the Shining, my father-in-law being Jack Nicholson himself. I'm kidding, but the road to the Glades washed out, we had flooding into the apartment contaminating our freshwater supply, and a furnace that was on the fritz ALL the time. Yep, we were pretty much snowed in for a couple months. Here are a few of my favorite photos I took this winter...
